The article examines the features of the organization of time and space in the first Crimean journey of P. I. Sumarokov, which is characterized by the influence of the artistic consciousness of pre-romanticism and sentimentalism. The relevance of the work is due to the interest of modern researchers in local (regional) texts of Russian literature, in the travelogue genre; as well as the lack of work related to a full analysis of the Crimean travelogues of P. I. Sumarokov in the context of a sentimental journey at the end of the 18th – beginning of the 19th centuries. The purpose of the article is a comprehensive study of the features of the chronotope and route in the travelogue P. I. Sumarokov "Travel throughout the Crimea and Bessarabia in 1799". Methodologically the study demonstrates imagological, cultural-historical, biographical, comparative-typological and comparative approaches and is based on works devoted to the literary journey and the Crimean text of Russian literature. As a result of the study, it was revealed that comparison based on the principle of past – present has become the main means of describing the area in the text under consideration and is based on three techniques: allusion, association, retrospection. On the pages of the Crimean travelogue P. I. Sumarokov often travels in space turns into a journey in time. Particular attention in the study was paid to the mythopoetic image of Crimea, since the peninsula in the view of P. I. Sumarokov is endowed with the features of sacred space. The author’s interpretation of the ideologeme "Moscow – the Third Rome", associated with the Byzantine heritage and the concept of return, and the actualization of the mythologemes of "heavenly place" and "garden city" represented the author's worldview. The study also showed that the genre-forming categories of travelogue are route, chronotope, locus.
